Al Sraiya Holding Group Acquires Club Quarters Hotel in Washington D.C. Expanding International Hospitality Portfolio

Doha, Qatar – July 2016 — In a strategic move that marked its first hospitality acquisition in the United States, Al Sraiya Holding Group has purchased the Club Quarters Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C., for $52.4 million. This acquisition affirms the Group’s commitment to global expansion and strengthens its position in key international hospitality markets.

The 161-room business-focused hotel is located at 839 17th Street NW, just blocks from the White House, offering a high-value addition to Al Sraiya’s growing portfolio of hotel assets. The acquisition was made through an affiliate of the Group, further signaling Al Sraiya’s intent to establish a foothold in one of the world’s most politically and economically significant cities.

Al Sraiya Holding Group, a diversified Qatari conglomerate with operations spanning construction, industrial, trading, and hospitality sectors, views this investment as part of a broader long-term strategy to align with stable, high-potential global real estate opportunities.

“Our investment in Washington, D.C. reflects Al Sraiya’s confidence in the resilience of the U.S. hospitality market and our ambition to develop a strong international presence through well-positioned assets,” said a spokesperson from the Group’s Hotels & Hospitality Division.

The Club Quarters Hotel acquisition complements Al Sraiya’s regional hospitality holdings in Qatar and the Middle East, adding geographic diversity and long-term yield potential. The Group plans to continue exploring select opportunities in major global cities where demand for business and leisure accommodations remains consistently strong.

This investment marks a milestone for Al Sraiya’s hospitality division, laying the groundwork for future acquisitions and joint ventures in strategic international markets.
