Doha, Qatar – January 2017 — In a strategic move that reinforces its growing presence in international markets, Al Sraiya Hotels & Hospitality Group, a subsidiary of Al Sraiya Holding Group, has successfully expanded its footprint in Europe with the acquisition of the Westin Warsaw in Poland. The deal marks a milestone for the Qatari group as it continues to invest in high-value hospitality assets across key global destinations.
The acquisition, valued at approximately €56 million, was completed with support from global advisory firm JLL and represents the first hotel acquisition in Poland by a Middle Eastern investor. Located in Warsaw’s central business district, the Westin Warsaw is a five-star, LEED Silver-certified hotel comprising 361 rooms, extensive conference and events facilities, a fitness center, and a range of upscale dining and wellness amenities.
Commenting on the investment, a spokesperson from Al Sraiya Holding Group said:
“This acquisition is part of our long-term vision to expand our hospitality portfolio in key international markets while delivering premium guest experiences aligned with global standards. Poland’s growing tourism and business travel sectors make the Westin Warsaw a strategic addition to our holdings.”
The Westin Warsaw joins a growing list of international properties managed or owned by Al Sraiya Hotels & Hospitality Group, including the Munich Marriott Hotel in Germany and several branded properties in London, such as Edward Hotel Paddington, Mowbray Court Hotel, and Presidential Apartments Kensington. The group also operates the Club Quarters Hotel near the White House in Washington, D.C., further anchoring its North American presence.
Al Sraiya’s international hospitality strategy supports Qatar’s broader economic diversification goals, as outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030. The group continues to identify high-performing assets in markets with strong fundamentals, aiming to build a portfolio that balances growth, sustainability, and long-term value.
The Westin Warsaw, originally opened in 2003, is a landmark property recognized for both its architecture and operational excellence. The hotel’s central location and modern infrastructure have made it a preferred destination for both business and leisure travelers.
As part of its long-term sustainability strategy, Al Sraiya Hotels & Hospitality Group proudly highlights The Westin Warsaw as the first hotel in Poland to achieve LEED Silver certification for existing buildings — a distinction awarded in July 2016. This internationally recognized certification underscores the Group’s dedication to operational excellence, environmental leadership, and delivering enduring value across its portfolio.
“The Westin Warsaw is distinguished not only by its refined architecture and wellness-focused guest experience, but also by its role as a national benchmark for sustainable hotel operations,” said a senior spokesperson at Al Sraiya Hotels & Hospitality Group. “This achievement reflects our broader vision to integrate environmental responsibility into the heart of luxury hospitality.” With this latest acquisition, Al Sraiya Hotels & Hospitality Group strengthens its position as a leading Qatari player in the global hospitality landscape—bringing world-class service and sustainable development principles to every market it enters.
