Doha, Qatar – October 2018 — In line with its commitment to sustainable construction practices, Al Sraiya Trading & Contracting Company, in joint venture with Larsen & Toubro, was honored by Ashghal – the Public Works Authority – for receiving ‘Special Recognition’ during the prestigious Green Award 2018. The recognition was granted to the team’s outstanding performance on the Roads and Infrastructure Project in Doha Industrial Area (Package 06).
The Green Award, introduced by Ashghal in 2018, celebrates environmental leadership and innovation across its project portfolio. Initially focused on roads projects, the 2018 edition expanded to include all projects under the Project Affairs sector, encouraging wider participation from Ashghal’s network of contractors and consultants.
Al Sraiya’s recognition for dewatering management highlights the joint venture’s ability to implement effective groundwater control techniques with minimal environmental impact—contributing to both operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. The Doha Industrial Area project, a large-scale infrastructure development, required advanced water table management solutions to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and ecological responsibility.
