Macro Qatar Qatar’s Signs Five-Year Facilities Management Agreement with Ministry of Education and Higher Education

Doha, Qatar – May 2017 — Macro Qatar, a joint venture between Qatar’s Al Sraiya Holding Group and the UK-based Macro Group (part of Mace), has signed a five-year contract with Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education to act as managing agent for providing facilities management (FM) services to approximately 250 independent schools within its chain of properties.

Under the agreement, Macro Qatar will support the Ministry in introducing world-class facilities management practices, advanced service delivery standards, and modern technologies to ensure a safe, secure, and efficient learning environment. The contract also aims to prepare the Ministry’s in-house facilities management team to fully self-manage operations at the conclusion of the term.

The scope includes a consultancy phase followed by the management of facilities services and minor project works for all independent schools. The consultancy phase will deliver more than 39 key outputs, including comprehensive FM documentation, processes, procedures, and management plans — establishing a sustainable, high-quality facilities management framework for Qatar’s education sector.
