Simsima for Tiles, Blocks, and Interlock: Merger of Al Reem and Al Sraiya Factories Strengthens Industrial Legacy and Supports Growth in Qatar’s Building Materials Sector

Doha, Qatar – November 2021 — The Industrial Division of Al Sraiya Holding Group has announced the merger of Al Reem Block Factory and Al Sraiya Automatic Block Factory under the umbrella of Simsima Block Factory, in a strategic move aimed at unifying industrial efforts and enhancing operational efficiency and productivity.

This merger adds significant value to the legacy of Simsima Factory in the local manufacturing sector. For decades, the factory has been a cornerstone of Qatar’s industrial landscape, particularly in the production of blocks, tiles, and interlock paving. By integrating these three industrial entities, Simsima is further strengthening its capacity to meet rising demand for high-quality building materials—especially in large-scale infrastructure projects, residential developments, and public and private facilities.

A senior official from the Group’s Industrial Division commented on the importance of the merger:

“This merger adds tremendous value to Simsima’s long-standing legacy of serving the national economy. It’s not merely a consolidation of production lines—it’s a unification of vision, expertise, and ambition to continue leading Qatar’s block and interlock manufacturing sector.”

The merger is expected to increase total production capacity, simplify operations, and drive innovation in manufacturing. It also allows the factory to benefit from shared infrastructure and resources, achieving economies of scale and delivering improved quality, all while maintaining strict adherence to national and international standards.

Simsima for Blocks, Tiles, and Interlock is a vital part of the industrial identity of Al Sraiya Holding Group. It has played a key role in many of Qatar’s urban development projects, including supplying materials for stadiums and facilities built for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
