Doha, Qatar – December 2024 — The MICHELIN Guide has launched its inaugural edition in Doha, featuring 33 standout restaurants from across the city. Hoppers Doha was awarded the prestigious Bib Gourmand distinction — a recognition given to restaurants offering high-quality food at reasonable prices.
Hoppers Doha, an outpost of the acclaimed London original, brings a distinctive flair to Doha’s culinary scene, drawing in fans of Sri Lankan and South Indian cuisine. With bold flavors, warm spices, and deeply authentic dishes, it has quickly become a favorite among those seeking vibrant and memorable dining experiences.

Saasna Qatar was also featured in the MICHELIN Guide as one of its recommended restaurants. A concept rooted in modern Qatari cuisine, Saasna Qatar offers a contemporary take on traditional flavors, merging heritage with innovation. It celebrates the spirit of Qatari hospitality through thoughtfully curated dishes that bridge the past and present.
This milestone also reflects the strategic direction of Diyafa Qatar, the hospitality arm of Al Sraiya Holding Group and operator of both restaurants. As Diyafa continues its expansion, this recognition reinforces its focus on fine dining concepts that elevate the region’s gastronomic identity and attract a new generation of discerning diners — locally and internationally.
Commenting on this dual recognition, Sraiya Nasser Al Kaabi, Executive Director at Al Sraiya Hotels & Hospitality Group, stated:
“We are deeply honored to see both Saasna Qatar and Hoppers Doha included in the MICHELIN Guide’s first-ever edition in Doha. This recognition is a testament to Diyafa Qatar’s commitment to excellence and our vision of enriching Qatar’s culinary landscape with concepts that balance authenticity, creativity, and global standards. These restaurants are not just places to dine — they represent stories, cultures, and a dedication to delivering exceptional experiences,” adding that “this milestone not only honors individual excellence — measured by the MICHELIN Guide’s globally respected criteria of ingredient quality, culinary technique, flavor harmony, chef’s personality, and consistency — but also highlights the impressive strides Qatar has made in establishing itself as a culinary destination of international repute.”
Al Sraiya Hotels & Hospitality Group is pleased to witness this broader recognition of Qatar’s rapidly evolving food and beverage sector — particularly the awarding of the prestigious 1 MICHELIN Star to Jamavar and IDAM by Alain Ducasse. The inclusion of our own Hoppers and Saasna alongside other outstanding venues reflects the dynamic diversity, innovation, and cultural richness of Doha’s dining landscape — one we take great national pride in helping shape and elevate.
